Val d’Orcia

Val d’Orcia

Photographs of its landscapes can be seen around the world and are easily recognizable by the gentle hills with the characteristic cypress trees. But Val d’Orcia is also famous for its wines, with the Montalcino and Montepulciano vineyards, and for its cheeses, first and foremost Pecorino di Pienza. Don’t miss the Abbey of Sant’Antimo, one of the most important monasteries in Tuscany, and the Collegiate Church of San Quirico, a splendid Romanesque church built on the remains of an ancient parish church.
