Crete Senesi

Crete Senesi

The area that extends to the south-east of Siena in the municipalities of Asciano, Buonconvento, Monteronid’Arbia and San Giovanni d’Asso, known for its white truffles, is characterized by endless wheat fields in which rows of cypresses and white roads appear, leading to small villages, churches and farms. If you like the genuine article, here you can taste olive oil, white truffle and Pecorino delle Crete, and visit the most important monastery in the Sienese region, the 15th century Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore.
